Paris – –
The meeting with the Nike sponsors Neymar seems to have come to an end. He didn’t want to renew his contract with the clothes from the USA.
Neymar has worked with Nike for 15 years. The Brazilian striker’s football career has been supported by this well-known sporting goods manufacturer since he was 13 years old.
When Neymar was still playing at Santos, Nike became the club’s main sponsor. The 28-year-old has always defended Nike-sponsored clubs, from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain.
Start reports USNeymar decided to end his contract with Nike on Tuesday (January 9th, 2020). It will no longer appear in the latest Nike product ads.
The termination of Neymar’s contract with Nike was allegedly due to a lack of consensus to expand the collaboration between the two parties. Previously, contract negotiations between Neymar and Nike took place before the competition was suspended in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the end of his contract with Nike, Neymar can now switch to sponsorship partnerships with other garments. The PSG attacker is reportedly planning to sign a new deal with Puma, a sporting goods manufacturer from Germany.
Neymar’s departure from Nike is said to have had a significant impact on the American brand. Additionally, Nike has started to lose several top European clubs that previously worked with them as apparel sponsors.
There are only six major teams on the blue continent that Nike will wear as clothing. These include Barcelona, PSG, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and the 2019/2020 Premier League champions Liverpool.
