Jakarta – –
The chaos surrounding Lionel Messi could affect Lautaro Martinez’s transfer. Lautaro will reject Barcelona because of the problem.
Barcelona are rocking issues regarding Messi’s future. The Argentine star wants to leave and terminate his contract earlier.
This problem has the potential to continue using legal channels. Barcelona insist that Messi is still under contract until 2021 with a buyout clause worth € 700m. Meanwhile, Messi believes that this clause is no longer valid.
The current situation in Barcelona will reportedly have an impact on Lautaro’s transfer from Inter Milan. Lautaro is known to be Barcelona’s main transfer market target this summer to replace Luis Suarez.
Lautaro doesn’t want to move to Barcelona after seeing Messi’s problem, according to Corriere dello Sport’s report. He should reconsider his position and choose not to move to Camp Nou.
The reassurance of Antonio Conte’s position as coach also gave Inter the upper hand. Inter are said to be in an advantageous position to extend Lautaro’s contract.
Lautaro himself is still under contract with Inter with a buy-out clause worth 111 million euros until 2023. That means Inter can charge a high price for the 23-year-old striker.
Messi’s desire to leave also has the potential to harm Barcelona who are trying to catch Lautaro. Lautaro has repeatedly expressed his hope of playing with the owner of the six Ballon d’Or trophies.
Lautaro performed well with Romelu Lukaku at the Inter front throughout the 2019/2020 season. He scored 21 goals in 49 games and helped deliver Nerazzurri to the final of the Europa League.
