Brussels – –
Kevin de Bruyne’s agent faces legal problems in Belgium. Representatives of the Manchester City midfielder were ambushed.
The office of Patrick Koster, head of the J&S agency International Football Management, which oversees De Bruyne, was searched on Thursday (27/8) local time. His office was searched by the Belgian federal prosecutor’s office.
According to the leading newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws (HLN), Koster is also said to have stayed in a police cell. He is also supposed to appear before a judge on Friday.
The raids are believed to be related to problems in 2013 and 2014. At the time, De Bruyne was still a Chelsea player.
The details of this case have yet to emerge. It is unclear if this is also related to the De Bruyne-Koster dispute initiated by the player’s father, Herwig De Bruyne.
HLN reports that Koster will appear before the investigating judge Michel Claise on Friday. Officials raided offices in Brussels, Knokke and Senegal.
De Bruyne himself had quarreled with Koster for some time. However, the agent is still allowed to negotiate a final contract extension for the player.
De Bruyne is currently a Manchester City player himself. In the 2019/2020 season, De Bruyne became the best player in the Premier League, despite the fact that his team only finished second in the Premier League.
