Milan – –
Inter Milan failed to get Arturo Vidal onto the transfer market last January. Now the Nerazzurri have their sights on the Barcelona midfielder again.
This news was announced by journalist Fabrizio Romano on his social media. He said Antonio Conte wanted the player back after failing to sign him last winter.
“Inter reopen talks with Barcelona for Arturo Vidal. Antonio Conte wants him again,” tweeted Romano.
Previously, Vidal was wanted by Inter on the transfer market last winter. In fact, his move to Milan was pretty tight.
However, Ernesto Valverde, the then Barcelona coach, kept him at Barcelona. As a result, the Chilean stayed in Barcelona.
Vidal’s contract in Barcelona itself runs until 2021. However, it has recently been rumored that his name will be banned from the Blaugrana now coached by Ronald Koeman.
Last season, Vidal played 43 times in Barcelona himself. He also made 8 goals and 3 assists but was unable to contribute trophies during the 2019/2020 season.
Inter need extra strength after the 2019/2020 season ended without a trophy. Conte only led Inter to second place in the Italian league and second place in the Europa League.
Conte himself is sure to stay at Inter next season after allegedly leaving the club. This means that Vidal is part of the manager’s serious plan to get Inter to compete even more with Juventus, now coached by Andrea Pirlo.
However, Inter appear to have a rival from Juventus. Because Pirlo is reportedly also keeping an eye on Vidal to join his squad next season.
In addition to Vidal, Inter have also been linked with Lionel Messi. The Argentine star is reportedly pushing away from Barcelona. Inter itself has the option to sign it based on the factor of a lower wage tax in Italy.
