London – –
Jurgen Klopp believes Rhian Brewster is not responsible for the Liverpool Community Shield defeat. He is the only enforcer to fail on penalties.
Liverpool were unable to open the 2020/2021 season with a Community Shield title. In the battle for the trophy they had to be defeated 4-5 on penalties against Arsenal.
The game must continue until the Tos-tosan round after the two teams drew 1: 1 in 90 minutes. The Gunners took the 12th-minute lead ahead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before Takumi Minamino equalized in the 76th minute.
On penalties, Rhian Brewster became a pain after being the only kicker not to score. He was named Liverpool’s third executor and hit Emiliano Martinez’s crossbar.
The manager of Livepool, Jürgen Klopp, immediately failed the body for Brewster’s penalty. He stressed that Brewster was not responsible for the Reds’ failure.
This man from Germany is fully responsible for the defeat of this team. Klopp’s decision to appoint Brewster as Liverpool’s executor is bold indeed.
Klopp prefers Brewster Sadio Mane or Virgil van Dijk in Liverpool’s list of penalties. Even when experience is under pressure, the Reds’ two pillars are of course better than the only 20-year-old Brewster.
“I don’t see he missed a penalty since we worked together. But it happened today. That’s how it is. Dealing with defeats in football is always a very important lesson. We’re all not perfect,” said Klopp. Sportskeeda.
“If someone’s to blame, it’s me. It’s because I made the decisions. Obviously we have made preparations. We have replaced Gini Wijnaldum with him and he faces penalties,” he added.
