London – –
Good news for Arsenal regarding Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future. The Gabonese striker is reportedly one step away from signing a new deal.
Aubametang only has one year of contract and so far there has been no agreement. Even if Arsenal still need Aubameyang, who has scored 70 goals in 109 games since moving to January 2018.
So the new contract negotiations have been going on for months. Arsenal actually made an offer that Aubameyang wanted but it was still held back because the player was allegedly waiting for an offer from Barcelona.
Seeing this unfavorable sign, Arsenal accelerated the negotiation process. Management has even proposed a raise for Aubameyang from £ 180,000 to £ 250,000, or around 4.77 billion rupees a week.
Aubameyang appears to have approved the new contract and will be officially announced in a few days. This was directly expressed by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta ahead of the clash against Liverpool in the Community Shield on Saturday (29.8.2020).
“I always think positively,” Arteta was quoted as saying Sportskeeda.
“We have positive discussions with him and his agent. I am very sure that we will reach an agreement as soon as possible. I feel like this,” continued the manager from Spain.
Arteta hopes that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s new contract will get him even more excited about the new season and scoring more goals.
“Of course that’s good news for him,” he said.
“I think he should be very happy if he can stay at this club longer. And people will be happy to hear that,” concluded Arteta, who has been with Arsenal since December 2019.
